Pony Club Conference at Aintree (09/03/08)
Recently 10 members of the Branch committee attended the annual Pony Club Conference being held at Aintree Race course.
The speakers were Ginger MacCaine, Dengie Feed, a representative of the Kings Troop and a talk on Grass sickness. HRH Princess Anne also paid a visit and joined us for lunch.
Members success in gaining hunting certificates (03/03/08)
The following members have been successful in gaining their hunting certificate- Lois Roberts, Nicky Grey Williams, Alex Wilkinson, Charlotte Reed, George Sturla, Hayley Vaughan Thomas and Emma Lloyd Jones.
Congratulations to them. They have all been helpful whilst out hunting this season.
The next rallies for the Hunting Certificate will commence this Summer.
Helping out at the Point to Point is part of the certificate so please volunteer. Names to Bethan.
Congratulations to Georgia Wilson aged 12 who won both grade III team test and the FEI test31 at Vale View Leicestershire on 17th February. Her photo is in the Horse & Hound this week. (28/02/08)

TURNOUT^
- Well done. Standards have been much better over the summer but there seems to be some confusion about what to wear when you are at competitions where it is most important that you have the correct colours on. Please read carefully the Dress Code that has been included with this Fixture List. We want to be able to recognise our own members when they are at competitions and cheer you on so please keep to the correct kit.
TEAMS ^
- Teams have been doing the rounds participating in qualifiers and area competitions, thank you to you all and your parents who transport you to and fro and bear the financial brunt. A special mention for the Junior Mounted Games team who qualified for the Zone Competitions: Nan Jones (Trigger) Suzi Wms, (Wally), Wednesday Ritter (Marty) Sam & Yasmin Greaves on Gypsy & Fern respectively. Both the Jnr & Snr Teams won Best Turned Out awards at Friendly Comps. And the Snr’s won at the Area’s.
NEW PARKING ARRANGEMENTS AT YSTRAD FARM ^
- Would all members please note that vehicles will no longer be allowed to drive in front of the farm house. There will be building work being carried out and a new track running to the side of the bungalow and BEHIND the farmhouse will be in operation. Watch for signs and be prepared for a few teething problems in the beginning.
LOST NOT FOUND ^
- Iona has a nice selection of lost items from the camp field with no names!! A small PC sweat shirt, black/check travel boots and 4 coats. Please contact her soon or they will be sold as second hand at the Hunting Inf. Evening towards Branch funds
NUTRITION & FITNESS TRAINING ^
- It is our aim to run a number of sessions to improve our members’ knowledge and understanding of the importance that nutrition plays in both equine and human fitness programme together with fitness instruction for both horse & rider. We aim to invite a number of professionals to teach these sessions over a periodof 3-4 weeks, some sessions will be classroom based and some with your horse/pony. As you can imagine this will take a lot of organising and use of Llysfaen funds to co-ordinate the events and therefore before we volunteer our time to set things in motion we would like members who are committed to completing the course to declare their interest as soon as possible. This event will beheavily subsidised to support your learning. Please contact 01492 680311 Christine
SOCIAL ^
- A social fund raiser is to be arranged for next year. Anyone with a venue or an idea would be most welcome. Suggestions so far are: A Fishing Competition, An Equestrian Fashion Show and a Safari Supper.
