CRB checks

Everyone who will be looking after children at either camp – especially those who are going to stay overnight – should have a CRB check.  Please email or telephone Bethan or Iona for details.

Help Needed

29th May – F & D Point to Point @ Bangor on Dee. Help needed to sell race cards. If you have done your hunting certificate or been hunting this season please could you volunteer. Free car pass for helpers. Names to Bethan ASAP.

Congratulations to the F & D Winter League Showjumping Teams

... for the second year running the F & D teams did extremely well – this year winning classes 1, 3 and 4 – no mean feat as they were competing against some excellent show jumpers from the whole of area 5.

There were also many individual successes during the season and several F & D riders also qualified for the Dengie Area final at Aintree, with Hannah Roberts and Brier Leahy qualifying at the Area final for the Championships in the Open Dengie and Dengie class.

Well done to all who competed in all classes throughout the winter.

Many thanks to Chris Leahy, team manager  for all the hours putting together teams, organising training, coping with tantrums etc etc.

Congratulations to Suzi Williams and Tickety Boo ...

who will be competing in the Welsh Mounted Games team at the Windsor show in May (12th – 16th), after a successful trial in Builth Wells on 7th March. It is well deserved, Suzi & Tick make an excellent combination, and we all wish them the best of luck during their year in the Welsh Squad.

Anya Dreiling, Mari Edwards, Nan Jones, Sam Major and Wednesday Rytter also tried out for the team, and although they were unsuccessful, they all had a good day. The selectors will be keeping an eye out for them next year too!

.... retires as Polocrosse trainer after several years in that role, She has led the F & D polocross team to many successes and will be sorely missed, she will be a very hard act to follow  - thanks Debbie. Watch this space for details of a suitable replacement.

Shooting Training – Mondays

Swimming Training – Tuesdays at Ruthin. One lane booked especially for Pony Club members – even if you don’t do Triathlon. swimmers are welcome. Cost for session is £2, plus ticket to pool.

Mounted Games

Flint & Denbigh will once again be putting on a Mounted Games demonstration at Denbigh Show on Saturday 28th August. New, experienced and veteran riders are welcome to join: we had 20 riders last year from 5 to 26 years of age.  We will be training during summer.  If you are interested, plese email Gwil with your name, age and experience of pony and rider.

Horse Trials

4th & 5th June – Horse Trials Selection, session between 2pm & 5pm (£10 per session) – contact Louise Shepherd for preferred date.

Dressage Training and Selection Day – 3rd June

This Training and Selection Day is for anybody who is interested in representing the F & D in the Area Dressage Competition on 3rd August.
The day will consist of riding the Test for the class you wish to enter, either the Novice, Intermediate or Open, (tests can be downloaded from the main Pony Club website), being marked, having a short lesson and then riding the Test again to see the improvements…………….more details on the website or contact Sioned O’Connor or Nicky Rae
